In making decisions about important questions, it is desirable that a candidate is able to distinguish between 'strong' and 'weak' arguments so far as they relate to the questions.
Each question given below consists of a statement, followed by two arguments numbered I and II. You have to decide which of the arguments is a 'strong' argument and which is a 'weak' argument.

Statement: Should the opinion polls predicting outcome of elections before the elections be banned in India?
Arguments:
(I) Yes, this may affects the voters mind and may affect the outcome.
(II) No, such polls are conducted all over the world.
The opinion polls may influence the thinking of an individual and thus, divert his mind. Also, blindly imitating a policy followed by other countries holds no relevance. Hence, only argument I holds.
The students union formation shall be a step towards giving to students the basic education in the field of politics. However, it shall create the same political atmosphere in the campus. Thus, both the argument hold strong.
Clearly, reservation on communal basis will increase inter - communal biases. So, argument I is vague. Also, it will be against the secular policy, according to which no communal group is given preference over the others. So, argument II holds.
Clearly, I does not provide a strong reason in support of the statement. Also, it is not possible to analyze the really deserving and not deserving. So, argument II holds strong.
The variety of news helps people to develop their own news. So, argument I is vague. Also, controlled news shall be a partial produce. So, it loses credibility. Thus argument II holds.
Statement: Should Indian support all the international policies of USA?
Arguments:
(I) No, many other powerful countries don't support the same.
(I) Yes, this is the only way to gain USA development funds.
Word 'only' makes argument II vague and argument I is the example of other countries. Hence, neither argument I nor II holds.
Abolishing the internal assessment would surely reduce favoritism on personal grounds because the teacher would not be involved in examination system so that they cannot extend personal benefit to anyone. So, argument I holds strong. But it will not affect the control of teaching faculty on students because still the teachers would be teaching them. So, argument II is vague.
Clearly, the advertisement are the means to introduce people with the product and its advantages. So, argument I holds strong. But argument II is vague because advertisement are and investment for better gain and not a wastage.
Clearly, a world government cannot eliminate tensions among nations because it will also have the ruling group and opposition group. further, the more powerful and diplomatic shall rule the world to their interests. So, only argument II holds.
Shuffling of Cabinet ministers is just not a regular process, but a step to ensure proper working and implementation of schemes and avoid corruption. So, none of the arguments hold strong.
