Hiring Process Overview

1. Online Aptitude + Reasoning Test

The first round evaluates quantitative ability, English grammar, comprehension skills, pattern recognition, and logical reasoning. All sections must be cleared individually, as Tech Mahindra applies sectional cut-offs.

2. Story Writing Round (Image-Based)

Candidates are shown an image and asked to write a 150–200 word story within 15 minutes. Evaluation is based on creativity, grammar, structure, and clarity using an automated scoring engine.

3. Technical Interview

Topics include OOP concepts, DBMS, SQL queries, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, basic coding, problem-solving, and discussion of academic projects. Telecom-focused roles may include networking fundamentals.

4. HR Interview

A short discussion covering strengths, communication skills, relocation readiness, expectations, and overall role fit.

Test Description

Aptitude & Quantitative Ability

Covers arithmetic, percentages, ratios, time & work, time–speed–distance, profit & loss, and basic algebra. Questions are generally easy, but speed is critical due to the overall time constraint.

Logical & Abstract Reasoning

Includes puzzles, seating arrangements, syllogisms, coding–decoding, data sufficiency, and pattern-based reasoning. Non-verbal questions may involve shapes, series, and visual comparisons.

English Grammar & Comprehension

Tests sentence correction, vocabulary, error spotting, short reading passages, and paragraph logic. This section carries significant weight in determining overall cut-off clearance.

Story Writing Round

Candidates are shown a scenario or image and must write an original story. Evaluation focuses on clarity, grammar, coherence, and creativity.
