Real candidate interview journey and insights

Interview Experience Details

Hello Everyone,

The interview experiences shared on this platform helped me a lot during my preparation. So, I decided to share my own experience to help future candidates.

Accenture Hiring Process

Accenture’s recruitment process consisted of only two simple rounds:

  1. Online Written Test
  2. Group Interview

The online written test is conducted either through AMCAT or MERITTRAC.

Important Note: It is a big advantage if your exam is through AMCAT, because nearly 80% of the questions are repetitive. Practicing previous AMCAT questions is more than enough to clear this round.

Since Accenture is a bulk recruiter, a large number of candidates are shortlisted for the interview round.

Group Interview Round

Unlike many companies, Accenture conducts Group Interviews. Clearing this round completely depends on your:

  • Communication Skills
  • Confidence Level
  • Time Management
  • Group Handling Ability

Each batch consisted of:

  • 3 Boys
  • 2 Girls

I strongly recommend going for the interview 1–2 hours after the start time. By then, the panel becomes more relaxed and friendly.

Proper attire, good eye contact, and clear communication play a major role. Your selection also depends on the panel and how the other four members perform.

My Group Interview Experience

In my group, two girls were very talkative and confident. Two boys were very nervous and spoke softly. I maintained a calm and balanced approach.

The very first question was:

“Tell me about yourself.”

Make sure you cover these points in your introduction:

  • Your education background
  • Achievements
  • Family background
  • Hobbies
  • Your personality traits

The next question was:

“What are your career goals?”

My Answer:
“My short-term goal is to get placed in your company. My long-term goal is to grow into a respectable position within the organization.”

This answer worked very well for me.

Avoid saying:

  • I want to become an entrepreneur immediately
  • I want to pursue M.Tech in IITs or NITs right away

The next question asked was:

“Being an ECE student, why do you want to join the IT field?”

My Answer:
“Yes sir, I agree that ECE offers many opportunities. But I am equally interested in software development and how applications are built. Therefore, I want to start my career in the software field.”

Later, they asked basic questions related to my final-year project. That was all — no heavy technical questions.

Final Result

At last, the results were announced — and I was selected for Accenture.
