SHL – Accenture Assessment Overview
Accenture conducts its online assessment through the SHL platform for most campus and off-campus drives. The test evaluates aptitude, technical skills and communication ability using a strict time-based format.
Cognitive Ability
This section evaluates problem-solving and reasoning skills. It includes verbal reasoning, analytical reasoning, critical thinking and abstract pattern recognition. There is no negative marking, but time management is crucial.
Technical Assessment
Tests understanding of basic programming concepts, pseudocode logic, SQL queries, output prediction and debugging fundamentals. This section is mandatory for engineering and IT profiles.
Communication Assessment
An AI-driven round that measures spoken English skills including pronunciation, fluency, grammar and listening comprehension. This round is often an elimination stage.
Role-Based Coding / Debugging
Conducted for software engineering roles. Candidates can choose their preferred language. Questions focus on logical implementation and debugging with moderate difficulty.
Tips by Our Experts
Round 1 – Online Assessment
- Divide each section by difficulty and attempt easier questions first.
- Attempt all questions since most sections do not have negative marking.
- Cognitive Ability: Target 30+ correct answers.
- Technical Assessment: Aim for 25–30 correct answers.
- Communication Assessment: Maintain a clear tone and steady fluency.
Round 2 – Interview
Speak confidently and stay calm. Accenture evaluates clarity of thought, communication skills, analytical ability and willingness to learn rather than deep technical expertise alone.
